Script Submission Terms & Release

Your work stays yours. Bel Air takes no ownership of your script, never sells or shares it, and uses it only to produce your coverage — processed on our own systems, not handed to any third party, and never used to train AI models. Before you upload, one thing matters: copyright protects your specific expression, not ideas, themes, genres, premises, or stock characters. We — and the whole industry — read a great many scripts, and material similar to yours may already exist or be created independently. By uploading, you agree such similarities aren’t our fault and you won’t bring a claim over them, unless we actually copied your protected expression. Using Bel Air is voluntary, and coverage is our professional opinion with no guarantee of any outcome.

This Script Submission Agreement and Release (“Agreement”) is between you (“You” or “Author”) and Bel Air Films, Inc., doing business as Bel Air Studios (“Bel Air”). By uploading, submitting, or otherwise providing any screenplay, treatment, outline, or other written material (the “Material”), You agree to the following:

1. Ownership Retained

You retain all right, title, and interest in and to the Material, including all copyright. Nothing in this Agreement transfers, assigns, or grants Bel Air any ownership of the Material.

2. Limited License

You grant Bel Air a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to access, store, copy, and process the Material solely as necessary to provide the coverage, analysis, audio read-through, or related services You request. Bel Air will not sell, license, publish, or disclose the Material to any third party except as required to provide the service or by law.

3. Ideas Are Not Protectable; Similarity Acknowledged

You acknowledge that ideas, concepts, themes, premises, genres, titles, settings, and stock characters are not protectable under copyright, which protects only the particular expression fixed in the Material. You further acknowledge that Bel Air, its personnel, and others in the industry create, receive, review, and develop a large volume of material, and that material similar or identical to the Material — in idea, theme, plot, character, or otherwise — may already exist, may be submitted by others, or may be independently created or developed, in each case without access to or use of the Material.

4. Release and Waiver of Claims

To the fullest extent permitted by law, You release, waive, and discharge Bel Air and its officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates from any and all claims, demands, damages, and liabilities arising out of or relating to any similarity between the Material and any other work that Bel Air receives, creates, develops, acquires, or produces, provided that this release does not extend to Bel Air’s actual, unauthorized copying of Your protected expression. You agree not to assert any claim against Bel Air based on idea similarity, independent creation, or industry-standard exposure to comparable material.

5. Voluntary, At-Will Service; No Obligation

Your use of the service is entirely voluntary. You are free to decline to use it or to discontinue at any time. Bel Air is under no obligation to read, use, develop, produce, or act upon the Material, and either party may terminate the engagement at any time. Nothing herein creates a partnership, employment, agency, confidential, or fiduciary relationship.

6. No Guarantee

Coverage and related deliverables are Bel Air’s professional opinion and analysis. Bel Air makes no representation or guarantee regarding the quality, marketability, sale, representation, optioning, production, or any other outcome of the Material.

7. Confidentiality and Handling

Bel Air treats the Material as confidential and processes it on its own systems. Bel Air does not use the Material to train its own or any third party’s artificial-intelligence models, and does not transmit the Material to any third-party service. Bel Air’s systems improve over time from Bel Air’s own analytical process and outcome data — not from the content of Your script. Confidentiality does not and cannot guarantee that no similar material exists elsewhere (see Sections 3–4).

8. Your Warranty and Indemnification

You represent that You own or control all rights in the Material and that it does not infringe the rights of any third party, and You agree to indemnify Bel Air against claims arising from a breach of that representation.

9. General

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules; any dispute shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder shall remain in effect. This Agreement is the entire agreement regarding the Material and supersedes prior understandings. Bel Air may update these terms prospectively.

By uploading or submitting the Material, You acknowledge that You have read, understood, and agree to this Agreement.
