Privacy Policy
Effective Date: May 16, 2026 · Last Updated: May 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Bel Air Films, Inc. ("Bel Air," "we," "us") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Bel Air Studios screenplay coverage service at coverage.belairstudios.ai or any associated domain (the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
- Account information: name, email address, password (stored as a salted hash, never in plaintext)
- Payment information: billing details handled by our payment processor (ConvergePay). We do not store full credit-card numbers on our servers.
- Screenplay content: the screenplay files (PDF or FDX) you upload for coverage. We store these for the duration of your account so you and we can refer back to a coverage.
- Communications: messages you send via the contact form, support email, or any reply you send to our notifications.
1.2 Information collected automatically
- Log data: IP address, user-agent, referrer, requested paths, and timestamps. Used for security, abuse prevention, and operational monitoring.
- Cookies: a session cookie is set when you log in (HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax) so the Service remembers you. No third-party tracking cookies are set by us.
2. How We Use Information
We use the information above to:
- Generate, store, and deliver coverage reports for the screenplays you upload
- Operate the account, process payments, and respond to support requests
- Protect the Service against fraud, abuse, scraping, and unauthorized access (e.g., honeypot logs, banned-IP enforcement)
- Improve the Service's calibration and quality using aggregated, de-identified signal only — never your raw screenplay content as training data for a general-purpose model
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service
3. How We Share Information
We share information only with:
- Our payment processor (ConvergePay) — for processing your payment
- Our infrastructure provider (Cloudflare) — for delivering the Service, security, DDoS protection
- Law enforcement — only when required by a valid legal request (subpoena, court order)
We do not sell or rent your information. We do not share your screenplay content, your coverage reports, or your usage data with any third party for any other purpose.
4. Where Data Is Processed
The Service operates on infrastructure located in the United States. AI inference (coverage generation) is performed on hardware owned and operated by Bel Air; no AI processing is outsourced to third-party cloud LLM APIs.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account information, screenplays, and coverage reports for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, we permanently delete your screenplays and coverage reports within thirty (30) days, except where retention is required for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.
6. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and the data it contains
- Export your screenplays and coverage reports
Send requests to our contact form with the email address associated with your account.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information: HTTPS-only traffic, HSTS, password hashing (bcrypt), session cookies with Secure / HttpOnly / SameSite flags, application-layer rate limiting and IP banning, Cloudflare WAF, and access controls on internal systems. No security system is perfect, but we take it seriously.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under thirteen (13). We do not knowingly collect information from children under thirteen. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified by posting the updated policy with a new "Last Updated" date.
